Results CO2-Emission 2022

As part of our Energy Management System, we have been monitoring and recording our energy consumption of electricity & fossil gas for several years.

Since January 2022, Silesia has used electricity solely from renewable sources at its sites in Neuss and Kalkar, which means that their electricity consumption no longer contributes to the calculation of CO2-emissions. Emission from the consumption of fossil gas is continuously being reduced through projects to save energy and increase energy efficiency, which are driven by our Energy Management System.

In October 2022, we set targets for our CO2-emission at both German sites in line with the reduction targets of the Paris Agreement:

50% reduction of our CO2-emission by 2030 compared to 2020 as reference year and to net-zero by 2050

Please see the below excellent results for 2022

65% Recuction compared to reference year 2020 at our Site in  Neuss, Germany

45% Recuction compared to reference year 2020 at our Site in  Kalkar, Germany

For Neuss, the 2030 target has already been exceeded significantly, and for Kalkar the goal of reducing CO2-emission by 50% compared to 2020 is only a short distance away.
